Lion Quays |
The Waterside Bar was opened in August 2003. It's on the site of the old Lion Inn just outside Weston Rhyn on the A5. The pub is part of a sprawling complex of hotel and spa, and it's nicely situated next to the Llangollen Canal - it even has it's own mooring for 20 narrow boats. Food served. Accommodation. The Stonehouse Cambrian Gold and Station Bitter were well kept, but a bit pricey. The pub itself is comfortable and nicely appointed. Large car park. Free Wi-Fi. Tel - 01691 684300 Visited Jun 2018. The Lodge |
Re-opened again in 2019 and thankfully the new owners have concentrated on the pub side of the business so the Indian restaurant has gone. Just a single real ale on. Car park. Occasional live music. Situated just off the island near the church on Vicarage Road. Tel - 1691 778551. Visited Aug 2019 |

The Plough |
The guest beer was Jennings Bitter - nicely kept. The pool table takes pride of place in the bar. There's a lounge as well, where the tv was on, but thankfully the sound was off. There was a nice fire in the lounge. Car park. Bit of a beer garden outside. Situated on Station Road next to the level crossing. Tel - 01691 772536. Visited Nov 2018 |
