Railway Inn

Very sad news in March 2017 - Liz Newnes the landlady has passed away. We hear there is a campaign to save the pub led by the local community

Traditional country pub with beers served from one of the smallest bars in Shropshire. Friendly family run pub with no electric till so prices are added up on paper. It’s so quaint. Real fire - dominoes popular. Well worth a visit. Car park - and now with a few tables outside. Handy for the railway station at Yorton. Situated 1 mile south of Clive. Tel - 01939 220240. Readers comments - I travel from Liverpool to Shrewsbury and always find time to alight at Yorton and visit The Railway Inn.  I have been doing this for the past eighteen years.  The beer and the ambience is excellent and I would recommend this pub to anybody - May 2012

Visited as part of a group of ten. Three ales were on: Rowton, Salopian Gold and Stonehouse Bitter. All three were rated as very good. 4 stars for each.  The pub has new signage, but glory be, nothing else has changed. With its tiny bar, roaring fire and welcoming landlady, this is a wonderful, timeless pub. A must see for all fans of historic pub interiors - Apr 2016
