Freehouse. Nice local now back to it's original name after being called the Top House Inn for a few years. This is a Bed & Breakfast as well as a pub. The pub is friendly and has a living room feel to it. There are only a few car parking spaces outside. Beer well kept - regular guest ales. Accommodation. Situated opposite St. John's Church on the main street, B4357, in Ruyton. Visited Apr 2011
Readers comments - Visited this quaint time-warp pub on a quiet Tuesday lunchtime. Free House, but only one handpull - Tunnel Vision from Box Steam brewery in Wiltshire which was quite tasty. Only concession to 21st century is a large corner TV. Some of the pub furniture is made from old Border Breweries wooden barrels, and there is lots of old photos and memorabilia. Oh! and a barbers shop in the back room - Sep 2010

Talbot Inn

Re-furbished and new owners in 2015 and it's now a Joules pub. The lovely old pub sign with the spotty dog has gone. Comfortable and friendly pub with four real ales, three of them from the Joules Brewery. Nice to see the new owners have retained the bookcases in the lounge, now with new oak alcoves and stained glass. Log burners. Food served. In common with other Joules pubs it's adorned by a lot of enamel signs extolling the virtues of Joules' products.  Car park at the back. Tel - 01939 261716 Visited Jan 2016  Pub website
