- Visited on a Saturday afternoon. The pub seems to have been spruced up, which includes the addition of a conservatory area acting as a dining room. Beer range is M&B plus 2 local guest beers. Sampled the Shropshire Lad, which was an excellent 4 star - Jun 2010

- Visited on a Friday evening and it was busy. The landlord is developing an upstairs lounge looking out over the beer garden. Beer range as described – 4 stars - Apr 2011
  

Nags Head

After being closed for a year the pub has been completely transformed and re-opened in late 2013. Food served. Car park. Two Shropshire beers on offer. Comfy leather chairs snuggle around the living flame gas fire which is the focal point in the pub. Open plan design with a dining area set off to one side. We got a warm welcome. Beer garden. Situated on the main A488 in Pontesbury. Tel 01743 790060  Pub website

Readers comment - Had lunch in the Nags Head that re-opened a few weeks ago. It has been completely refurbished and serves 3 real ales. The menu was quite extensive and food was excellent - Jan 2014 
The pub may have been saved from demolition. Article in the Shropshire Star says that two local couples have purchased the pub, and intend to renovate and re-open - Mar 2013
  

The Plough

Traditional, friendly pub in a nice location next to a ford. Pool table, darts and a jukebox. There was a welcoming open fire in the bar. The food menu extends to rolls, pork pies and scotch eggs - perfect to go with a pint. Car park. Situated on Chapel Street. Visited Nov 2014
