Readers comments:  Real surprise transformation going on at the El and Castle, Dawley - outside nicely 'Victorian' renovated and bar very habitable with lounge coming on. The big news  - 4 real beers all in good nick including Rowton bitter and told hope to stock 6 in future. Visit! - Apr 2012

Closed. Ex-Banks's pub bought by the council - who are redeveloping the area - the latest news suggests the frontage of the pub is to be saved
