Closed following the retirement of Alan and Sue.
The pub was famous for being Shropshire's highest at 391m (1283 ft) above sea level. Local rumour is this is the highest land eastwards until the Ural Mountains in Russia. The views are spectacular on a clear day. Situated off the A4117 near Clee Hill. Pub website

Golden Cross

Freehouse. Internet access is available from one corner of the bar - this may be unique in Shropshire. Pool table and darts. Car park. The pub cats are pretty weighty. Located on the A4117, High Street. Tel - 01584 890741. Visited Oct 2001
