Church Stretton

Bucks Head Hotel

The pub serves a beer called Old Bucks that is brewed by Bass. Food served. Situated near the roundabout in the middle of town at 42 High Street. The pool room is now a restaurant area. Beer garden at the back. Overall, the beer was a bit disappointing. Tel - 01694 722898. Visited Jan 2010  Pub website

Wye Valley HPA

Re-opened in 2009 as Housemans - it used to be the Wine Vaults. This must be one of the narrowest pubs in Shropshire - but it still has an nice airy feel to it. Lots of little spotlights add to the ambience.  Wonderfully tasty Three Tuns beers on offer. Food served. Artwork adorns the walls and it's all for sale. Every chair in the pub is different. Situated on Shrewsbury Road. Tel - 01694 724441 Visited May 2011  Pub website
Three Tuns Sostice
Three Tuns XXX
Readers`comments - Bright, open and clean interior. Despite a restaurant feel, there's a bar with two real ale handpulls - from the Three Tuns brewery. Also the tables are not laid out for diners. So it's still more a pub than a restaurant. I had a pint of the Three Tuns Stirling (4.1%) - it was served a bit cold but once warmed up was a good pint. So I'll give it a rating of 3.5 out of 5. The owner seems very enthusiastic and there were an incredible amount of staff on duty! Worth popping in if in Church Stretton - Nov 2009

Kings Arms

Joules pub. Small old fashioned, traditional pub with lots of beams. Old black and white adverts adorn the walls. Open all day Sunday - but closed on Mondays - useful to know!   Situated at 53 High Street.  Visited May 2010  Pub Website
Joules Blonde
Joules Pale Ale
Readers comments - Now a Joules pub - Aug 2013

I've visited twice in recent months. The pale ale is excellent, 5 stars. Not so impressed with the Blonde, it's a bit bland so just 3 stars. Nice historic pub with cosy atmosphere - Apr 2016

Longmynd Hotel

Not exactly a pub - but a hotel with a bar that serves real ale and is open to non residents. Accommodation. Food served. Situated on the edge of town at the top of Cunnery Road.

Woods Shropshire Lad
Readers comments - The Long Mynd Hotel in Church Stretton now has two real ales on offer. When I went a few days ago there was Three Tuns XXX and Wood's Shropshire Lad. The bar is open to the public all day, every day and in the evenings too - Aug 2011

Old Coppers Malt House

Good food menu and open all day on Sundays. Situated on Shrewsbury Road. The number of real ales is now down to just two from the six that used to be on offer - and both were a bit lifeless. Bar and lounge and other little "meeting rooms". Pool table and darts in the bar. Jukebox has a very good selection of 70's rock. This was the 300th pub visited by the beer tasting team. Tel - 01694 722506. Visited Jan 2010
