Chirbury

Herbert Arms

Closed for renovation. Historic roadside pub with a single real ale on the night of our visit.  Lovely original tiled floor in the bar. Wood burning stoves make for a warm and comfortable welcome. Food served in a restaurant area.  Thursday is steak and curry night. Car park. Darts. Situated close to St. Michael's church which dates back to the 12th century, the pub is right in the middle of Chirbury on the A490/B4386, not far from the Welsh border. Tel - 01938 561216. Readers comments - - - Herbert Arms in Chirbury, had a pint of Monty's Ding Dong there and it was a good pint - 4 / 5. The restaurant area has just been refurbished and there are new wood fires in the pub, which are a nice addition - Dec 2012
- Large country pub on the corner of the A490 near the junction with the Montgomery Road. It was until recently more of a restaurant, but now it's returning into a more balanced drinking and eating pub. Had both Worthingtons Cask and Mayfields Priory Pale Ale on when I popped in. The Mayfields was a 4/5 - Aug 2012
