Banks's pub. Now using it's previous name - for a few years it was called the Poachers  Pocket. A couple of real ales were on offer - both were a little bit average. This is an open-plan eating type pub. Food served. Car park with lots of space for disabled visitors. Is it just me, or are there lots of lights in this pub. Outdoor patio drinking area. Friendly freehouse. Now with a microbrewery - home of the Clipper Brewery. Great selection of local beers in this popular pub situated on Salop Street. Check out the milk churns used as stools in the conservatory. Hops over the bar and a cosy feel to this pub. Live music nights. There's some interesting carving around the bar and a real fire. Black Boy

The pub sign depicts a chimney sweep. This pub was formerly known as the Prince Charles for a while. This is a nice little local, with candles it is quite atmospheric. Freehouse. Another pub that's gone back to it's original name - after being known as the Hollyhead Inn for a few years. Food served. Accommodation. It's multi-roomed but open plan with real fires. Jewel of the Severn

Opened in 2002 - this is your typical J.D.Wetherspoons pub - big open spaces, air conditioned, no music, cheap beer and food. It's a busy establishment, so be prepared for a long wait at the bar while people order food and coffees. Readers comments - Alan says that Hobsons is also available. Mary (the Licensee) has 6 hand pumps: 2 have Batham's Bitter and Hobson's Bitter as regulars and the other 4 take the ever-changing guest ales. These usually include a mild, another 'cooking' and 2 special ales (or stronger). The quality of the Bathams and Hobsons both merit (I think) stars.
